The Integrative Practice Growth Checklist

A single, stage-by-stage reference that tells you exactly what to focus on — in strategy, finances, marketing and technology — depending on where your practice is right now.

This is the resource we wish every integrative practitioner reads and spends time on. A single, stage-by-stage reference that tells you exactly what to focus on in strategy, finances, marketing, and technology depending on where your practice is right now.

It is organised in three stages defined by years of practice and gross revenue. Every item links to either a detailed article on this blog, a recommended external tool, or both. Items marked with a Srav Health tag are things we build or manage for practitioners in our programme.

Start by finding yourself in the positioning grid below. Then go straight to your stage checklist.

Where does your practice sit right now?

Find the cell that describes you most honestly. The name of the cell is not a judgement—it is a starting point. Every cell has a path forward.

Low / Inconsistent RevenueGrowing / Strong Revenue
Early Years (0–4 yrs)
Foundation
Building from scratch. First clients, first proof points, learning what works. This is exactly where most practitioners start and where the checklist begins.
→ Stage 1
Accelerating
Early but growing fast. Strong positioning, early traction. You have the instincts — now you need the systems to keep up with demand.
→ Stage 2
Growing Years (5–10 yrs)
Plateaued
Experience and outcomes are real but growth has stalled. Often a positioning or marketing system problem, not a clinical one. The fix is usually simpler than it feels.
→ Stage 2
Scaling
Consistent clients and revenue. Ready to add group programs, build authority content, and systematise so growth doesn't depend on your personal hours.
→ Stage 3
Established (10+ yrs)
Stuck
Significant experience, respected by peers, but revenue and visibility haven't matched your expertise. Usually a marketing and positioning investment problem — not a skill one.
→ Stage 2–3
Authority
Established practice, strong reputation, multiple revenue streams. Focus shifts to leverage — programs, content, referral systems, and protecting your time.
→ Stage 3
← Low Revenue     Revenue axis     High Revenue →
Must Non-negotiable at this stage
Should High value, do soon
Optional Nice to have when ready

Use this checklist as a living document

This checklist is not meant to be completed in one sitting. It is a reference you return to as your practice evolves—a way of auditing where you are, confirming what is in place, and identifying the one or two items most worth focusing on next. The practitioners who grow consistently are not the ones who do everything at once. They are the ones who do the right things in the right order, without skipping stages.

If you are in Stage 1, resist the pull of Stage 3 tactics. A sophisticated retargeting setup is not what moves the needle when you have 6 clients. A clear positioning statement and a lead magnet does. If you are in Stage 2 and your growth has plateaued, the answer is almost always in the strategy and financial sections—not in adding a new channel.

Every item in this checklist links to a detailed resource—either on this blog or externally. The blog posts are written to be read alongside this checklist, not as standalone pieces. Together they form a complete operating guide for building a financially sustainable integrative practice in any market, virtual or local.

For the financial model that sits underneath this checklist, read The Financial Reality of an Integrative Practice. For the funnel that drives the marketing outcomes at each stage, read The Integrative Practice Funnel. For the content system that fills the top of that funnel, read Content Strategy for Integrative Practitioners.
